Abstract
It was attemped to assess the MMPI validity scale types that include "low¢¥ type, ¢¥A¢¥ type, "\/¢¥ type and "other¢¥ type, in 312 neuroses who were treated at Woo Sok Hospital during the period of Jan. 1970 to Dec. 1974.
The results of this study were as follows:
1. T scores of the clinical scales of the MMPI profile in neuroses showed considerable elevation in the neurotic triad and the validity scales showed normal range.
2. As to the comparative analysis of the clinical scales according to the validity scale types, the ¢¥low¢¥ type showed considerable elevation in Hs, D, Hy and Pt, the type showed considerable elevation in all clinical scales except Mf scale, the" " type showed considerable elevation in Hs and Hy scales, and the "other¢¥ type showed similar MMPI profile to the ¢¥low¢¥ type.
3. The "A¢¥ type showed significantly higher incidence of psychotic MMPI profile than the other types. (P<0.01)
4. As to the comparative analysis of chief comp¡©laints and symptoms according to the validity scale types, the "low¢¥ type showed high incidence of depression, the ¢¥A,¢¥ type and the ¢¥other¢¥t¢¥ showed high incidence of anxiousness, and the 4 type showed low incidence of anxiousness depression.
5. These results could suggest that the valid,¡©scale types indicate the patient¢¥s psychologi attitude toward the therapist as well as the paj nt¢¥s character and psychological status on perfoh ming MMPI test.
